Article Processing Charges (APC)

Overview

The Journal of Agricultural Technology and Food Systems (JATAFS) is an international, peer-reviewed, fully Open Access journal published by Novadex Publications.

To support the costs associated with manuscript processing, peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, online publication, website maintenance, long-term digital preservation, and dissemination of scholarly content, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

There are no submission charges. Authors are not required to pay any fee during manuscript submission or peer review.

The applicable APC is determined based on the affiliation of the corresponding author at the time of manuscript submission.

The APC contributes to the costs of:

  • Initial manuscript screening

  • Editorial assessment

  • Double-blind peer review management

  • Plagiarism screening

  • Professional copyediting

  • Language and formatting checks

  • Typesetting and article production

  • DOI registration

  • Online publication

  • Open Access hosting

  • Long-term digital preservation

  • Website maintenance

  • Indexing metadata preparation

No Influence on Editorial Decisions

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Editorial decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board based solely on:

  • Scientific quality

  • Originality

  • Methodological rigor

  • Ethical compliance

  • Relevance to the journal's scope

  • Peer reviewer recommendations

The editorial process is completely independent of financial considerations.

Payment Policy

Authors will receive APC payment instructions only after the manuscript has been formally accepted.

Payment should not be made before acceptance unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.

APC Waiver and Discounts

JATAFS supports equitable access to scholarly publishing.

Authors who are unable to pay the APC due to genuine financial hardship may submit a written request for a full or partial waiver.

Waiver requests are evaluated confidentially and independently of the editorial process.

Approval or rejection of a waiver request has no effect on the editorial evaluation or publication decision.

Refund Policy

Once editorial processing and production have commenced following acceptance, APC payments are generally non-refundable.

Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Publisher.

Taxes and Bank Charges

Authors are responsible for any applicable:

  • Bank transfer charges

  • Currency conversion fees

  • Taxes imposed by their financial institution or country

Open Access License

All published articles are made immediately and permanently available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Authors retain copyright while granting the journal a non-exclusive license to publish and disseminate their work.
